Astroni Crater

Ancient thermal baths at Romans time, the oasis of Astroni (247 hectares with some hills and a lake) was the ancient “Royal Hunting Estate”. Today, thanks to WWF Italy management, it has fully regained its naturalistic dignity and the safeguarding of its exclusive flora and fauna.

Solfatara

Extending far about 33 hectares, it is a naturalistic oasis, a beautiful itinerary for an interesting promenade among the famous Mediterranean woods and volcanic phenomena such as jets of sulphurous steam, small volcanoes spitting hot mud and bubbling jet of sand.

Monte Nuovo

It is the youngest mountain in Europe (1538). In 1996 an interesting Wildlife Reserve was inaugurated on its slopes, in order to protect the geological, botanical and zoological resources of the Phlegraean Fields.
